Ok, why am I suddenly writing about 2PM Sports Inline Skates? I don’t personally roller skate (anymore!) And when I DID roller skate, I used the ol’ 4-wheel skates with the key. For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, see the photo below, where – believe it or not you can still buy them on some places like Etsy and eBay!

Why I Started Exploring the World of Inline Skates
Yesterday, my husband and I were at a yard sale where folks offered a few different rollerblade skates. Some seemed pretty pricey for a yard sale – $20 for used skates? Due to the size (7-ish?), I’m guessing they were more for teens than younger children. Out of curiosity, I decided to see what was going on in the world of Inline skates.
Seeing these skates where I’m reminded of ice-skating only on wheels where I’m pretty sure I’ll last all of maybe 5 seconds, I thought about the old fashioned skates mentioned above. I’m guessing that kids today have far better balance than I ever had with those 4-wheeled ones if they can zip around on inline skates!
I wondered if all that many kids skate at all these days. So, of course off I went to Amazon and check out inline skates for kids and was pretty surprised to see a LOT of them on Amazon – and they are about $50 a pair, depending on the style and brand.
As an aside, does a growing child REALLY need a $100 pair of skates if a $50 will do? Especially since the parents will probably end up like the folks at the yard sale. Either they’ll put them at their own yard sale, or hand them down to the younger kids down the street.

All that said, I found what appears to be the MOST popular selling inline skates on Amazon. Behold, I present to you, skates by 2PM SPORTS. Copied and Pasted directly from Amazon – all typos included LOL: “Vinal Girls Adjustable Flashing Inline Skates, All Wheels Light Up, Fun Illuminating Skates for Kids Men Adult Women and Boys.” (I’m guessing they meant “Vinyl” – but seriously, don’t people ever proofread their stuff? I’m not perfect either, but I think that an actual product listing title would be the place to be a bit more cautious with spelling.)
Typos and misspellings and all, these skates are Amazon’s #1 selling choice for children’s inline skates. At the time of this writing, they boast a 4.6 star rating (over 8,600 ratings), with over 200 sold in the last month! Who knew? Who knew that so many people actually buy inline skates each month! I suppose I’m a bit behind the times…
