Comments Off on Create Your Next Adventure With Headout – One VERY Cool App!
Ok folks – you are going to LOVE this app we’ve been looking at! It started with a reader (and friend) who said, “Do you guys promote any type of thing where we can plan day trips without needing to book a whole cruise or resort?” Well, as it turns out, why yes! Yes we can! It’s called “Headout.”
We’ll cover it in depth in this review, but let’s start with the name itself: “Headout.” If you love the sound of “heading out” on your own special adventure right when you feel the urge, then the Headout app may just be what you need.
Basically, Headout is a travel (actually, more of an “event”) and adventure planning app designed to help you plan fun adventures in many great locations all over the world starting with those experiences closest to you (depending on how close you are to or visiting one of the destination centers they feature).
So, let’s say you’re visiting Paris (please take me! take me!) and you want to plan something for one of your days or evenings there. You’ll find shows, river cruises, and tours that are easy for you to research and book right on the app.
(Psst! Looking for Headout coupon codes? We have them here: Headout Promo Codes)
The Many Benefits of Headout
As intimated above, the Headout app offers users a wide range of options and benefits for planning and booking their vacation experiences with them. We figured we could write up a “top 10 reasons to use Headout,” but frankly, we had a hard time narrowing the benefits down to only ten.
The more we looked, and wondered how it might work if (for example), you were in New York City, but not particularly interested in seeing Broadway plays… well, the more we were impressed. Just when you think you may not find something to suit your particular tastes, you’ll find something!
So, with that we realized that there was:
- Far-reaching variety
Variety is the spice of life and Headout has plenty of it to offer. From city tours and theme parks and attractions to perfect dates, there is much to do with Headout. The wide range of options that users of the app can enjoy is available in two primary forms – where to go and what to do.
– Location, location, location
Just as location is the most important part of purchasing or renting commercial and residential real estate, so too is the location the primary part of planning a trip. Where you go, in many ways, is just as important as why you go and what you do there. So, using the New York visit as an example, you might not be into Broadway plays, but maybe you’d like a walking tour. Headout has ’em. And, it’s not like they just slap up some tour that they found on Craigslist or something.
It’s the real deal with real outfitters/guides. Same thing with restaurant/pub crawls (my kind of outing!). You may not know YOUR own way around a city, but your guide DOES! 🙂
Truly, there really is something for everyone. I can guarantee you that my dad would not enjoy a “foodie” experience – but if he sees the Metropolitan Museum of Art or the (American) Museum of Natural History (both in NYC) or the Louvre (on that trip to Paris that I keep hinting at) – he’d be all in.
One thing that we noticed in exploring the app was that while some events have a set time and strict no-cancellation policies, others are more open. For example, while we are enjoying Paris, we want to take in the Moulin Rouge Show with Dinner (of course we do!). There’s no wiggle room here – You will arrive for 6:30 pm, and then dinner is served at 7:00 pm, followed by the famous cabaret performance at 9:00 (when all the folks arrive that DIDN’T get the dinner like we did).
But, our tickets to the Louvre will leave us more leeway in terms of the time of day or days we want to visit.
- Options at your fingertips
The best part about having options is having them right when you need them. Headout allows users to travel at the drop of a hat. In today’s world, schedules and activities can change at the drop of a hat. It helps, therefore, to have a travel and vacation app that allows you to plan and also readjust your plan if need be.
Using our Louvre visit as an example, there is a 6-hour cancellation policy; helpful if something unexpected comes up. The thing is that at Headout, they SPELL OUT THE POLICIES. Sorry… I didn’t mean to “yell” that out, but I think it’s a VERY transparent and truthful aspect of the app.
So, when you are booking your event or outing, look through the entire listing. It’s ALL spelled out. For example, when you book your dinner at the Moulin Rouge they spell out that the Moulin Rouge has a “strict non-refundable policy.”
But, let’s say you booked The Lido Show with Champagne deal. They have a 7-day refund/cancellation policy. And a dress code. No flip flops. No sneakers. But, again, this is all spelled out in the event description. That gives me a perfect excuse to go shopping for a lovely evening outfit. In Paris. Works for me…
There are countless options. Period.
- Nearby Gems
One of the unique features about Headout is the fact that it redefines vacation experiences for the user. More often than not, we think of vacations, rest and relaxation as something we have to travel far and wide to experience. However, Headout is changing all that.
Most of us living in New York. London, Hawaii or any of the other cities or towns featured in the Headout app are scarcely aware of the hotspots in and around our area. Headout helps you easily find and book trips in and around your area – making it perfect for discovering diamonds in the rough. Additionally, being able to find a great escape that is nearby your city is far more affordable (and accessible) for most than a vacation overseas.
- An Activity for Everyone
In addition to offering up rare locations, Headout also makes trips and vacations that go beyond run of the mill experiences available to users thanks to the wide variety of activities that are available. Whether you are a single adult who owns your own business or works a 9 to 5 job, or you are an adult with a family of varying definitions, there is a Headout option for you. There are experiences that facilitate group activities for persons of all ages, as well as activities for the single or coupled adults at different stages in their lives. If you prefer peaceful and tranquil vacations, there is something for you. If you are more of an adrenaline buff, then there are options for you as well.
We mentioned lots of options. I was just scrolling around the app, and decided that now I want to visit Amsterdam, because they have this REALLY cool (no pun intended) Amsterdam Icebar with Drinks visit! And, yes, you get special cold-weather gear to wear inside the bar. Otherwise it really wouldn’t be quite as much fun.
Amsterdam looks like a truly fun city to visit! They even have a “Red Light District Walking Tour” – which I’d definitely want to only take if I had someone who knows the lay of the land, if you know what I mean…
If, on the other hand, I decided I didn’t want to see something quite so edgy, I also like the looks of the Dutch Wine & Cheese Evening Cruise. So, you see what I mean!
- The App is User-friendly
One of the best things about the Headout application is how user-friendly it is. From the moment you visit the site (click: www.headout.com to visit), you are presented with all the choices available. For starters, popular cities are immediately accessible from the home page in a drop down menu (see the screenshot at left).
Additionally, there is a search bar at the top of the page that allows users to search using location and preferred activities. All the information you need regarding how to use the app is also there on the front page.
In addition to its mobile-friendly responsive website, the Headout app is available for convenient download from both the Apple Store and the Android Google Play Store. This is an important part of the app’s user-friendliness and accessibility.
- Exquisite Customer Care
Customer care is the backbone of any service-oriented business. Thankfully, Headout is home to a great customer care team. We have been in contact with representatives of the company, and have found them to be very responsive.
The customer care team at Headout is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Best of all, Headout’s customer care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As such, users never have to worry about having a late night emergency regarding their trip or be concerned with their time zone when contacting Headout. Customer Care is available regardless.
Simply put, they make it very easy to contact them.
- Transaction Security
Protecting user information is a critical part of doing business over the web. It is important for service providers and product manufacturers to guarantee that they will protect their client’s information and keep it away from hackers and bots. This is especially true when user information includes financial information. The added security that Headout is able to afford its customers and users is an absolutely great feature.
- International Currencies
Speaking of transactions, Headout’s site and app are easily switched between a variety of international currencies. While I’m here in the United States, and deal in US Dollars, folks from all over can adjust the currency to fit their country. See the screenshot at the right for the 13 different currencies available.
- User Cash Backs
It is always great when you can earn money or rewards points every time you spend a dollar. As if all the other great benefits afforded by Headout – like an amazing vacation experience – are not enough, Headout also offers users cash back on booking certain experiences.
As the cash back adds up, Headout users can use their accumulated cash back to book another adventure. So as one book one vacation after the other, you are earning for yourself an extra vacation covered by your rewards points.
- A Service Built on Values and Partnerships
Headout is able to offer such great value to those who use its app for a number of reasons – starting with their commitment to quality and their partnerships with other high-quality brands. Headout has made it a point of duty to collaborate with service providers in the travel and leisure industry who are just as committed as they are to high-quality service.
- Curated Vacation Experiences
Through forming strong relationships with other service providers and brands, Headout is able to offer its users the best deals possible on their vacations. Vacation packages are specially curated to offer Headout clients the best bang for their buck. In fact, Headout’s deals are almost guaranteed to be the ‘cheapest’ around without sacrificing quality and a high-value experience.
Do Not Just Take Our Word For It
It is pretty clear by now that we are fans of the Headout app. However, do not just take our word for it. There are lots of reviews and testimonials from men and women just like you who use the Headout app over and over again to plan their next adventure. So, even if you do not trust our word, you can trust the word of those men and women like you who love the app.
If you are an adult who would like to get away from the hustle and bustle of your daily life and would like to do it in a way that is affordable and convenient, then Headout is just the application for you. All you need to do is head to www.headout.com to get started. Of course, you may also opt to download the app from either the Google Play or Apple store.

Comments Off on MileIQ Catches Each Mile Automatically
MileIQ began with a vision to ease a task that people found burdensome, repetitive, and did not look forward to. This was mileage deduction, something companies expect of their drivers and sales reps.
It is a task performed by families living in rural areas who travel to Children’s Hospital then have to make mileage claims on their taxes. You can probably think of other applications, and MileIQ just made them easier, not to mention more accurate.
Dan Bomze and Chuck Dietrich got together in 2013 with an idea that started with taxes and smartphones. What if it was not so difficult to count those miles traveled by executives, employees, and families? How about making it harder to cheat the system too?
That might not have been on their minds, but the IRS certainly will not complain if mileage calculations are precise. Since that first meeting in 2013, the pair developed a team and created a product: MileIQ.
They received ideas from people who have to track mileage as part of their professional lives and this helped them to develop the product they now provide as an app for smartphones.
Why Does Mileage Matter?
Companies reimburse employees for miles traveled as part of their working day if they are business-related. Employees track these miles laboriously, using their odometer and keeping notes when they remember. When they forget, employees have to estimate or forfeit miles. The boss can only hope employees are being honest about the mileage they claim.
Government taxation agencies also make allowances for miles traveled when self-employed individuals submit their tax forms, when individuals must travel for health reasons, and they use them to calculate expenses for non-profit organizations. Many people benefit from knowing how far they travel yearly and how much this costs them in terms of gasoline or diesel and wear-and-tear on a vehicle.
After 3 years, MileIQ has grown to become a hugely useful, popular app relied upon by businesses and self-employed individuals. The company has not stopped innovating either. For now, though, this is a simple app to use which help to fuel its popularity.
How It Works
MileIQ automatically detects how far you have driven. It tracks how far and where you went also. One could behave deceptively and say those miles were for business, but the app shows where a vehicle was taken. It doesn’t use a lot of battery power, so downloading the MileIQ app will not drain a mobile battery.
It features one-swipe classification so your drive is ear-marked as personal, professional, or whatever other purpose you might hit the road for. Choose from standard classifications or create custom ones. Add details about parking fees, toll costs, and more.
You do not have to set it up for the app to work; not until personalization is required. Miles are tracked from the start. Add which vehicles you will be tracking if there is more than one. Edit mileage and rates. Set work hours and other reasons for driving. Customers pay a monthly fee for the service which offers data privacy, secure storage in the Cloud, no ads, support, and mileage history.
The free plan is good for 40 drives but prices start at $5.99 monthly. The largest plan is ideal for a team with multiple vehicles and drivers expecting to cover hundreds, maybe thousands of miles every month between them all.
